The Girls U-11 lost in the Semi-Finals
The Florida Premier teams made these games one of the most exciting games of the season. The U-9 Girls team, for the first year together, would show how great coaching and team work would pay off. In the semi-finals, the girls played a strong defensive match against the Punishers making the outcome come down to PKs. The girls finished with 4 pks to 1. The girls then faced the Oldsmar team showing that they could shut down the team the fell to earlier in the tournament, winning the Championship 3-0. The U-10 Girls had a 4-0 shutout taking them to the finals only to to face Lehigh. The girls came back from a 4-2 defecit taking the game to overtime with PKs becoming the factor. Lehigh won with 5 pks to 4. The U-11 Girls played a hard aggressive game, losing in the Semi-Finals 4-2. The U-13 Girls won the Championship game, (details to follow). The U-14 Boys lost in the finals, with the deciding factor coming down to PKs. The U-14 Girls dominated the Semi-Finals, with a 4-0 shutout. The finals would challenge the girls, being down 1-0 at halftime. But, our girls would not give up, they came out in the second half with a goal in the first minute tieing the score. They took the lead with another goal. Just when you thought the game was ours, the Sarasota team tied it up, making the score 2-2. The girls didn’t let up, showing they wanted the game more when on a direct kick took the lead 3-2 only to secure the game with one more goal, winning the finals 4-2. The U-15 Boys won the Championship game, (details to follow).
This is a wonderful accomplishment for the Florida Premier Family. We should all be proud of all of our teams, coaches and parents for such a terrific season.
